Pradnya, lovingly known as Swāti by her students, is a certified & experienced yoga instructor from India's well-known 'The Yoga Institute' in Bombay, India as well as from the esteemed 'Integral Yoga Institute®' in VA. She is E-RYT, RCYT Yoga Alliance member. She is also trained and specialized in Children's Yoga and Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga. In addition to teaching yoga in group settings, she offers Private Therapeutic Yoga lessons and Yoga Therapy sessions at a local alternative healing practice in Hickory,NC with the growing need for personalised yoga solutions since no two people are exactly alike. She emphasizes that while group yoga classes might be popular, fun, affordable and perhaps the only possible option one may have at this time; the fact is each of us really needs correct personal guidance at some point in life. Despite her ability to instruct with modifications in group class, she would like all yogis to know that it is humanly impossible for any teacher to provide fully personalized instruction to each student in a group class setting. Private yoga lessons provide a well-rounded practice, designed to best suit yourself & help you listen to your body and prevent yoga injuries in any setting. Her philosophy is to be able to serve her students & as many people as possible with sincerity, love & compassion and in their best interest by sharing the ancient yoga secrets of India along with integrated yoga practices from other traditions.
Blessed to be born in the Land of Yoga, Swāti has been practicing Yoga since a tender age of 6 years as she thoroughly enjoyed the poses involving flexibility that she was very good at. In addition to her remarkable parents and gurus, she accredits all her success in academic field & life to yoga. She studied theory and practical yoga in her school for 5 years. Her interest inspired her to graduate with B.A. in Philosophy with Yoga as one of her key subjects. She then took up the teacher's training program at the esteemed Yoga Institute and taught to students in India and Japan before teaching to students here and also undergoing a Residential Teacher's Training at Integral Yoga Institute. Her teaching style is a unique blend of Eastern and Western yoga teachings and she believes in the healing power of yoga poses and mantras. She teaches Yogāsana (poses) with alignments, along with focus on meditation, Prānāyama (breathing practices), Yoga Nidrā (deep relaxation) and yoga lifestyle. She teaches yoga for all levels of experience including gentle yoga for beginners.
In today's times where each one faces tremendous challenges and tensions everywhere and especially with the need for universal peace and harmony, she feels the need to spread the joy of exploring peace within oneself through yoga in the hearts of the human race !! She believes that a strong mind leads to a strong body. She intends to inspire others that “Anything & Everything is Possible with Yoga if practiced with Full Faith”.
Her passion is to spread traditional yoga with strong focus on meditations. Her students often experience instant peace and relaxed state of mind and deeply benefit from the wisdom she imparts in her meditations. They share that her voice is very soothing & therapeutic. Most importantly, her instructions are filled with precise guided instructions with careful consideration given to people of all body types and limitations. Hence various modifications are offered during the group instructions and is a wonderful element that highlights her style of teaching yoga and benefits a student by just listening. Listening is an art and her audio classes will help you discover the artist within you.
She hopes to reach out to more people from around the world on this audio yoga platform with her voice to spread the message on total health & peace.
She is grateful to be a part of the iHanuman community!
