Mystical Nature Poetry and Music by Gerry Ramakrishna Sackett and Sam Eberle

Yoga Style:
Handstand in Maine

This week's feature is a very powerful and special offering of music and mystical nature poetry by Gerry Ramakrishna Sackett and Sam Eberle of Yogaville. We first heard this beautiful piece at a Satsang at the Satchidananda Ashram this past winter, and Ramakrishna and Sam graciously agreed to come record it at Monkeyclaus Recording Studio so that we could share it with all of our podcast listeners around the world.

Nature has always been a source of inner and outer connection and re-tuning for Ramakrishna, and this theme echoes throughout his poetry. When he stepped out of his truck at the recording studio, the first thing he did was take off his work boots to scuff up his heels with dirt and grass, and then spent some time under a tree and lying upon the earth. Later he shared:

What I love the most about the teachings of Swami Satchidananda is when he talks about the Nature'™s Way, as nature has been my teacher and my link. To be in the elements, to feel the water, to feel the air and all the sounds, everything simultaneous, creates such a feeling of vastness. That'™s what I seek. That's what I would like to experience every moment. Yoga has helped me to quiet my mind and open my heart, to feel that pulse more.

The poetry recited here is from an unpublished collection, "One Leaf Among All", by Gerry Ramakrishna Sackett, with musical improvisations by Sam Eberle. We hope that the words and music will root you in Nature's Way and connect you to a very deep place inside yourself and with all those around you.

Namaste!
