Gratitude Day 14 : 14 Days of Gratitude

Two weeks of gratitude and how do I feel? In a word, Grateful. It has had a profound impact on my overall state of mind. It is like when you go to your mat on those weeks where it feels like going to your mat is the only thing going well. You are just so thankful for your practice or the respite from a busy day. My morning page commitment has been like this. It puts me in a good mood immediately because I know I am eventually going to be grateful. I have also been able to use this practice to help some of my friends who are having a difficult day. I recommend focusing on what is good and precious in their lives instead of the impermanent situation in which they have found themselves. Sometimes it can be challenging to come to that conclusion, but if you can step back and grasp the bigger picture, we realize how truly fortunate we are. It is a great practice for getting out of a rut. So today I am thankful for the gift of this gratitude practice. And since I am at my halfway point towards 30 days of gratitude, I am making the commitment to bring this practice and its gifts out into my community. On that note, my aunt sent me a link to a blog post about a family practice of gratitude. Enjoy!

Are there any simple gratitude practices that you would like to share?
