Ancient Wisdom is Timeless

Introduction
Being optimists, it important to look into our lives and our history with a clear and balanced view. This means seriously considering what is happening around us and what those elements are, that have brought us to the dire consequences that we face today as an entire species. Why are we in the mess we are in? How do we get past this global dilemma?
The word individual means undividable. Therefore we are all in this together, yet, each of us is responsible for our place in the circle of life. It's a wonderful thing to know that we are all contributors to the whole, simply by way of discovering and enlivening our humane values.
I as well countless others worldwide regard the native people the tribal, aboriginal and indigenous people of the earth with an immense respect and gratitude for sharing their 'ways' with us. Reminding us with incredible kindness and patience, of what it means to be human. In so many ways, we are seeking to reclaim our power by reclaiming our innate * 1 wisdom.
Yet, there is no intention of romanticizing indigenous people here. All human beings are confronted by the challenges that life brings to them. Of course there were difficulties and skirmishes in these cultures too. However, the indigenous people never lost sight of what was or is most important to supporting their spirituality, their families, the individual the tribe and our earth.
At this juncture in the realms of time, indigenous people are quickly loosing their precious cultures and traditions. They've been uprooted by the same force that now throws us all off balance, creating huge gaps and holes in our cosmic knowledge, planetary knowledge and self-knowledge. Which are in fact but one essential-wisdom.
An Honest Evaluation
Human beings have incredible intelligence and creative capacity; even so, we have given ourselves over to a powerful and mesmerizing superficiality. Leaving our spirituality, intuition and our creative cognitive acuity aside to atrophy when we forget how important these wonderful human qualities are. We have given up far too much for a return that is far too minuscule. And though we are in fact bright heart-full people, we continue to create misfortune for ourselves.
A great number of our population, current as well as those in the past, work one third of everyday at jobs they don't like. Often we are creating wealth for others as we attempt to simply keep food on our tables and the bills paid. We define others and ourselves by acquisition. We often eat foods full of chemicals that are detrimental to our bodies.
To relax, we sit in front of a television assaulting our minds with images that control the way we think about everything rather than relating to one another.
There is an interesting study in cognitive sciences that states:
"When we learn something that we think we know, whatever may be newly introduced to us, is always considered in reference to what we already think we know."
In other words, what you accept as true will always color whatever else you may learn. This means that our mind is easily closed to any new or alternative stimulus.
That is unless of course, you remain vigilant and open-minded. This is very important to consider, particularly now at this important time of great changes.
We are now in the midst of a Great Shift of Consciousness. This Great Shift has been prophesized by Indigenous People world wide, for eons. It is said and we are aware that this very time is our opportunity to be what we want our world to be.
Things are changing fast, accelerating and intensifying.
This is our time to reclaim our innate power, the power of our heart. Our hearts are our higher-mind. And, it is through the alchemical marriage of our wise hearts and open minds that we are lifted into expansive dimensions. Dimensions that are opening through earth changes and the immense necessity for an expansion into cosmic consciousness. This is the moment when we reclaim our innate creativity and inclusive wisdom. We all know that this is so.
What does Ancient Wisdom have to do with all of this? Let us look at the 'way' of life of the Indigenous people who were able to live on earth for perhaps hundreds of thousand of years, generation after generation without disturbing the earth. After considering the observations below, it becomes clear that we have given our most precious humane values over to become slavish to our over weighty debts for having that which robs us of the treasure of our human experience.
The Indigenous People of Our World Understood and Lived by These Highly Valued Principles.
They knew how to grow food. * 2
Their laws were simple, eternal, universal and well respected and did not change with the whim of new implementation. They are the same today as they were thousands of years ago, because they still apply.
Women were nurturers and protected, taught and raised the children to be good family and tribal members.
Men were protectors of the Families and the tribes.
Men and women were complimentary like the sun and moon, not opposites such as less and more.
Children were taught by the parents and were at a very young age contributors to the family. The family was highly valued.
People knew each other well.
The people knew the land and the animals and the birds and the insects. They knew the medicine plants, the food plants and the trees.
They knew the nature that surrounded them and knew them selves to be a part of the landscape as well as the skies above.
They were custodians of the land and did not nor could comprehend ownership of land and waters.
No one was ever thrown out of his or her homes.
There were no mortgages.
They respected the balance of nature and did not take more than they needed and when they did (which is recorded) they paid the dire consequences and learned quickly their mistakes and corrected them.
They told time by the natural movement of the moon. Their time was not fragmented but was (actually is) even and cosmic. Therefore they were not neurotically off balance with the natural flow of time.
They shared their resources.
They kept and sang sacred songs.
They danced sacred dances as their feet beat rhythms of gratitude and for requests and with respect for Grandmother Earth and her gifts of life.
They gathered in sacred ceremony together for prayer and healing and to benefit all.
They knew the directional Beings and their qualities.
They recognized the powers of animals and utilized this wisdom in many ways.
Women were respected for their feminine prowess and wisdom not for just their sexual attraction.
Mothers were important to their sons and daughters. Mothers, aunts and sisters were great teachers for the young girls.
Men were respected for their brave power, wisdom and gentleness.
Fathers were important to their daughters and sons. Fathers, uncles and brothers were great teachers for the young boys.
They knew the Spirit Helpers and the Medicine Beings.
They revered the Great Mystery and the ancestors for their divine offerings and maintaining life on earth.
They knew how to speak to the animals and how to listen to their messages.
They learned from the stars in the night sky. They knew how to move under them, navigating themselves from one place to another and through the seasons.
They knew of their star origins and were not afraid of star visitors.
They met their food in the shape of animals eye to eye did not even waste a bone. Killing an animal was a sacred act and was seen as an offering of nature and a sacrifice at once.
Water was clean, no fluoride no chlorine and free.
People were in good physical condition.
Relationships were strong, in marriage and in friendship.
A person's word was of great value.
They weathered storms draught and difficulty together and helped each other get through hard times.Leaders were respectful honest and wise people otherwise ... they could not be leaders.
Women had women's secrets and therefore were more mysterious to men. Women had a society of the feminine.
Men had men's secrets and therefore were more mysterious to women. Men had a society of masculinity.
A young man had to win a young bride by being the best he could be.
Young women did not have to display their sexuality. Their feminine beauty was enough to lure masculine eyes.
Children were never beaten, though there were ways of disciplining them. Mostly ostracizing them was the method and also by scolding them, telling them what they did that was unacceptable.
Sexual abuse of children was unheard of.
Children were loved and cared for by all.
There was no financial debt.
Life was no more difficult at that time then it is now, just different challenges were met. However the treasure of being human has been seriously depleted for the phantom gains brought on by unbridled greed. But, we are learning that whatever we have must be upheld by the virtue of real humane values...or we loose what is truly essential for life love and wisdom to flourish and move forward into the future.
NOTES
*1 Wisdom is different than knowledge. Though wisdom is knowledge, knowledge is not necessarily wisdom. Why? Because wisdom is said to be 'beneficial knowledge.' This means that wisdom is more universal in its scope. Such as, it might take much knowledge to build a nuclear bomb; yet, it is not wise to destroy the earth by this kind of destructive force. Wisdom is a greater than knowledge alone.
*2 One particular prophecy states that, "when people purchase food, there will be a great darkness upon the earth.
