Sara's classes are grounded in her deep respect for the wisdom of the cycles of nature and her curiosity about the capacity of the human body. As a scientist, she is drawn to the precision of the Iyengar Yoga Method and has practiced yoga for over 25 years. Sara began studying with Sandra Pleasants in 2002 and was certified to teach yoga in 2004. Sara apprenticed with Advanced Iyengar Teacher, John Schumacher, for almost a decade. After an intensive training with Sandra and John, she successfully passed two assessments to become a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher in September 2015.
Through her work developing the Yoga Media Site, iHanuman, Sara has had the opportunity to study with and record dozens of teachers from around the world. Sara is also a Yoga Therapist, Clinical Herbalism, Traditional Medicine and is earning her Master of Science in Human Clinical Nutrition. Sara creates a safe, inviting environment for students of all levels to increase their strength and flexibility.

One of my first experiences with yoga was a kundalini yoga class at a YMCA in Oregon. My friends and I would attend every week. Although, I had no idea why the woman leading the class wore a turban on her head, it was the highlight of my week.
As a Virgo, I believe I have organization loaded into my DNA. It somehow comes naturally. I have always loved stationary stores & school supplies. But I never really had a method for my madness. When I merged households with my husband, clutter started to take hold.
