Lisa Garner Santa, D.M.A., E-RYT 200, RYT 500 and Director of Yoga Shala Lubbock, began teaching yoga in 2007 after graduating from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. She led the Yoga 4 Musicians course at the Texas Tech University School of Music from 2007-2013, where she is also Professor of Flute. In recognition of her dedicated and creative teaching, Lisa received TTU’s 2013 President’s Excellence in Teaching Award. She continues to deepen her experience of Yoga, Sanskrit and philosophy through study with Dr. M.A. Jayashree and M.A. Narasimhan, founders of the Anantha Research Foundation in Mysore, India. She recently returned from Mysore where she participated in a month-long study at the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI) as as student of Saraswati Jois. In the summer of 2012, Lisa was a faculty assistant at Kripalu during the July month-long intensive Yoga Teacher Training.
