I teach yoga because I believe we all need a safe place and regular practice to discover our potential for total health. Currently I hold e-200RYT and 500 RYT accreditations. I have conducted many asana workshops and Yoga Nidra practices and Yoga Immersion Retreats.
I’ve studied asana, philosophy and sacred text with Rod Stryker in Maryland and Chicago and St. Louis. I’ve completed trainings with Shiva Rea in New York and Massachusetts. I completed Yoga Therapeutic Training for Yoga Teachers and Health Professionals at the Satchidananda Ashram-Yogaville in Virginia. In Maryland I’ve studied with Roger Cole, Victor van Kooten and many others.
I believe the challenge of yoga is not to overcome the body, push through or deny limits, but to approach your body with respect and kindness. Doing so you will lovingly find and untie your constraints. With the ability to remain unbound to the unnecessary we can build your foundations from there.
Why Blue Pearl? The swamis say just before liberation, during mediation, you will see a small blue pearl. So I call my practice ~ Blue Pearl Yoga. A BPY practice will change your wellbeing – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Class foundations in Blue Pearl Yoga practice include chanting, pranayama, and mediation, yoga nidra, along with asana.
As a Catholic growing up in a suburb of Chicago, I took my first yoga class and loved it. I took classes on and off as I graduated from college in Colorado and taught Montessori school for 7 years. My practice grew as I raised my 3 kids; I needed the stress relief and therefore decided to help others with theirs.
