Hilary has been practicing vinyasa yoga since 1996 and teaching since 2000. Though her class is physically and mentally challenging, she cultivates a supportive, friendly atmosphere in which practitioners can safely and compassionately explore their obstacles–physical, emotional, and creative. She has taught at a variety of studios and other venues and now finds her teaching home at ACAC Fitness and Wellness in downtown Charlottesville.
Hilary holds a BA in English from Barnard College, an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Virginia, and a Masters in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has taught fiction writing on and off since 1998, has published short stories in national literary journals, and hopes one day soon to complete revisions on her first novel. She also works as a clinical social worker/outpatient therapist at Region 10 Community Services Board and the Women's Initiative in Charlottesville. She lives with her husband, their daughter, and their three cats.
